APPLE SPICE CAKE

  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ tsp. EA, cinnamon, cloves & nutmeg
  • ¾ tsp. EA, baking soda & salt
  • ¹/8 tsp. baking powder
  • ¾ cup canned applesauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup raisins, (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts, (optional)  


PRE-HEAT OVEN TO 350° F, OVEN
BUTTER & FLOUR OR VEGETABLE SPRAY A 8 OR 10-INCH SPRINGFORM CAKE PAN
*NOTE: ALSO MAKES GREAT (10 OR 12) CUPCAKES

1. IN A BOWL, MIX TOGETHER THE DRY INGREDIENTS & SET ASIDE

2. IN ANOTHER BOWL STIR TOGETHER THE APPLESAUCE, WATER, & THE EGG, SET ASIDE

3. IN THE BOWL OF AN ELECTRIC MIXER, CREAM TOGETHER, THE SUGAR & OIL

4. ADD DRY INGREDIENTS ALTERNATING WITH THE EGG MIXTURE

5. STIR IN RAISINS & NUTS, (IF USING)

6. POUR INTO PREPARED PAN AND BAKE FOR 20 TO 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL TESTER COMES OUT CLEAN

7. COOL COMPLETELY BEFORE SERVING

FROST WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING OR DUST WITH DUST WITH POWDER SUGAR

YIELDS ABOUT 10 TO 12 SERVINGS
