BROWN SUGAR-ORANGE SHORTBREAD

  • 8-oz. cold sweet butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. finely minced orange zest
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
With paddle attachment of an electric
Mixer cream together the butter, orange zest & brown sugar, on medium speed 


Add the flour & salt; continue to mix until the dough comes together, about 3 to 5 minutes 
Roll out the dough on lightly floured board, to ¼-inch thick 
Cut into desired shapes & place on a parchment paper lined sheet pan, freeze for 1-hour

Preheat oven to 250º

Bake cookies for 45 minutes or until slightly firm to the touch *Note:
Cookies should Not Brown, they should be white (or light tan/cream) in colour (when you take them out of the oven) - cookies will firm as they cool 

Store in airtight container
Yields about 2 dozen
